Train the Trainer

The Deal Alliance Train the Trainer course is a generic 4 day course to prepare candidates to be able to design and deliver any form of training from lecturing to facilitation. The course is aimed at the aviation industry and is as such focussed on safety, technical proficiency and human factors. We base our course on enhancing the three aspects of competency based training: Knowledge, Skills and Attitude. ICAO now advocates Evidence Based Training – a concept which is difficult to grasp as legacy instruction has always been based on evidence, so what is the difference? Evidence based training in the practical area of instruction is not just training to competency. It is rather a combination of Competency based training and analytical training to determine why the trainee was not reaching desired standards of knowledge skill or attitude. We have tried to incorporate an evidence based approach to our TTT course where even in the “knowledge” area, our candidates use tools to analyse whether learning has been achieved and if not, how to remedy the situation. Aviation safety starts with excellent dedicated training which instills in future pilots the right Attitude, a high skills level and thorough Knowledge in all aspects of their chosen career.

During the 4 day course the following areas will be covered:

  • What makes a good Trainer
  • Facilitation and lecture skills
  • The training cycle
  • The learning process
  • Use of training aids
  • Principles of adult learning
  • Assessing and Evaluating
  • Delivery practice
