Restricted Radio Telephony Course
The Restricted Radio Licence theoretical knowledge examination shall consist of a single examination conducted by the Authority.
Deal Alliance will prepare you for this exam over a period of three full days.
The syllabus, which can be found in Appendix 1.5 on the CAA website, CATS 61, covers the following knowledge base:
- Classification of Airspaces
- Altimeter Setting Procedures
- ATC Flight Plans
- Radio technical
- Practical use of VHF installation
- Terminology
- Radio procedure
- Communications failure
- Distress and Urgency messages.
Once you have passed the SA CAA written exam, Deal Alliance can be enlisted to assist you with your practical test with an approved Radio Designated Examiner.
